It’s a rare joy to be a guest at a wedding these days. We celebrated Julian’s best friend Dave’s marriage to Katie last weekend. The wedding was lovely and relaxed with a fun filled, champagne fuelled, bus ride to the reception venue, St. John’s Restaurant. It was a wonderful venue for a laid back, food focused, wedding. Dave is a chef so the food was a big feature. Served family style, plates of heaping deliciousness kept on coming. Despite Julian and I being vegetarians, the very meat centric restaurant made us our own special veggie meals that were beyond decadent.
Without a doubt, the highlight of the evening was the dace floor antics and bar head stands. The late night wedding moments, as far as I’m concerned, yield the very best images from a wedding. As an artist I am most proud of these kinds of images. My style has always been a bit raw, documentary, revealing, unapologetic, and strives to capture a feeling/emotion more than just a visual moment. It’s not for all couples, or all weddings, but it always guarantees that my heart and soul are in the images.
